Energy Vampires « One Man's Opinion Blog

Energy Vampires « One Man's Opinion Blog: "Energy Vampires drain your spirit by depleting your positive energy, just like real vampires slurp blood. Energy vampires – such as drama queens – leave you feeling drained and listless. The Energy Vampire’s negative influences have consumed your positive energy. The only way to protect yourself is to set up boundaries, and be forceful about how far you are willing to let people push before you push back."

Cat Transport Boxes
During my travels I see a lot of interesting things. This one is unique. I met a gentleman that has been manufacturing Pet Transfer Boxes for 18 years, as a hobby. He has only 6 regular customers and has never one tried to market his product! At present working on his own he cannot manufacture them fast enough

Now he has retired he is keen to do this …….. BUT. After seeing the phenomenal potential for this product and the sales I got to thinking. Bottom line I have drawn up a plan that would be able to create employment for at least 4 unskilled labourerers in EVERY major town throughout SA. In the cities a hundred jobs or more, in each city. I am making the first mini factory here in False Bay already with my very limited resources but I need help in order to do it on a national level. My plan would be to set them up and then get a manager. The labour would only be disadvantaged people, such as the disabled. (Wheelchair bound, deaf, blind and mentally challaged.)

I do believe that there are organizations that would aid with starting a project like this. Please contact me if you know of one.

The Mexican's Lifestyle

The Mexican's Lifestyle: "The day started off with a few more shocks, the first been roll call. First though we needed to get coffee and rusks, in true ‘in the bush’ army style, only two meals were scheduled, one at 11 o’clock and then a supper. The mess consisted of a few tables and chairs under beautiful palm trees;"

4. the feeling of riding to war « The Mexican's Lifestyle: "The beginning of the drive was amazing, the feeling of riding to war, not knowing where or what to expect and the strange scenery all added to the feeling of surrealism. The road north is a single semi-tarred affair with trucks cannibalized where they have broken down. Out side of Caba Ledo is a huge base of special ops soldiers that have red berets with a baltjie of a leopard’s face. They looked exceptionally tough and mean;"

An Armed Robbery 2001 « The Mexican's Lifestyle: "9.30 on a Tuesday morning. I am on the phone to my mate Angus. As the toilet is upstairs and customers use it I take no notice of a man coming up them. I am not looking at him but hear the un-mistakable sound of a semi- auto pistol been cocked. He shoves it against my head, shouting I must put the phone down. I do not say goodbye to Angus, just do as he says. Another man rushes into Marc’s office. Ashleen is still as a rabbit caught in the headlights. My guy is shaking so badly that the gun is tap tapping against my head. I am still on my pacifist pluk and un-armed. Time seems to slow down, I notice the weapon he has is a brand new model, Tarus Millennium 9mm. I hope he does not pull the trigger by accident or from shaking so badly."

Bilbo Baggins said something along the lines that one ought to be very careful when one steps out of ones door, as one never knows where one may end up. I stepped out of the proverbial door with the intention of getting horribly drunk at the local pub, which was conveniently with in walking distance. This I was doing when someone I had a nodding acquaintance with 10 years back in the army, walked into the pub. We were both not working, me by choice because I had just sold my house and inherited a nice sum of money. Trevor because he could not find work at that time. Anyway, Trevor had heard that somewhere in Pretoria, a company was looking for men with operational experience, to train troops in some African country and they were paying very well, in Dollars! He had a contact name, Sgt. Pelsur, a company name, Executive Something, and a bloody telephone number that he was too scared to act on. Well, I’m not known to be a person that sits on my hands, so after a good few drinks off we went to my girlfriend’s house to make the call. All went well and an appointment was set up for the following day. This, by the way, was Monday."

Coping with Criticism « One Man's Opinion Blog: "Believe me no one likes it! This is especially true when it is directed at you personally or on something you have achieved that is close to your heart. How does one deal with this inevitable occurrence? As I have learned it is not the situation that is important but how one deals with it that counts, some of these things I have being taught, in my strange classrooms, gave me the ability to handle criticism a bit better. Make no mistake, it still hurts, just not so badly :}

Dear President

Dear President: "The Solidarity Movement called on South Africans to respond in their droves to President Zuma that devoting only 2% of his State of the Nation Address to crime is not enough. He devoted far less time to crime than to any of the government’s other priorities. He even spent less time talking about crime than welcoming the guests."

I am non - political but this needs to be addressed.

And this reflects one of the hardest lessons I had to learn early on in this journey of mine.

Dual Personalities « The Mexican's Lifestyle

Dual Personalities « The Mexican's Lifestyle: "Dual Personalities
By waynebisset

Every human being has two personalities: an archaic, primitive, childlike, unadapted personality, and a modern, sophisticated, adult, and, to all appearances, adapted personality.

Civilization and education have superimposed the second over the first or rather built over the first a thin crust of manners which does not permit its sharp angles to protrude.See Article.

The Mexican has always known this!

If you were blessed with only two, count yourself fortunate. The thing is that as long as you suppress the first you will never truly be happy. My philosophy was to introduce ALL my personalities to each other and let them make friends, this works very well. Free your mind and become a Mexican, let the child in you play and you will be amazed at how “healthy” this is for your psyche. Join up the Mexican Desparados and learn how. Here you will meet all sorts of Mexicans that are not even Mexican at all. You can meet the Senorita and The Mexican’s main side kick, add your own “mug shot” too. BUT you had better take the test to see if you are capable of being a Mexican first. Could You Be a Mexican Horse Thief?"

Twitter or Facebook « One Man's Opinion Blog: "Twitter or Facebook
By waynebisset

Let’s face it, pun intended, we can mess about on all the small Social Media sites as much as we want, they are limited. For now, I believe some will become giants, but most of us need business exposure and we need it NOW! So logic tells me; going along with my Ballistics theory that the two high explosives in this game are, Facebook and Twitter. I am still a twit when it comes to Twitter, cannot seem to get followers, never mind. I am intrigued by Facebook and many of the things that irritate me about the site are the very things that make it so popular. Mmmmm. Look at it from a different angle, how can I use those things to my advantage? The applications drive me nuts, but half the cyber population loves them. That is a lot of people, millions. Branding. The Mexican Horse Thief. Okay I made an application called, “Could you be a Mexican Horse Thief.”

I love playing with unknown explosives! Is this a little bang or will it be some C4?

By waynebisset

It would seem I am cursed, and destined to lead an interesting life. Last night, early evening, my friend Gordon picked me up in order for us to attend an art show opening on which he was exhibiting. At the backpackers , where I am stuck, we have a guest from Kenya, he is completing his doctorate here at UNISA. He is also an art lover so was keen to join us. Gordon pulled up outside and as my new Kenyan friend and I got in the car a Golf pulled in front of us and three large men jumped out. Cops. From my interesting life, I knew this, but my friends did not, both thought we were about to be hi-jacked or robbed. ID was flashed, too quickly to actually see if it was real."

The Explosive Power of Social Media « One Man's Opinion Blog: "The power of this Social Media is downright scary. My comparison to ballistics is very apt; this is like dealing with high explosives. One ought to be very careful but no need to be scared. As it is with weapons training you just need to find a few good instructors. One that is well worth listening to is Jo-Anne Vandermeulen, she not only teachers one the skill, gently, I might add, but gives encouragement along the way. With her kind permission I have copied a particularly pertinent article she has written. It is this man’s opinion that you follow more of her articles, the links are supplied below."
